  11. SUBJECT:  OPS - STRIKE TEAMS - Part 2/2
  12.      Our Strike Team is comprised of RACES personnel who have
  13. taken extra steps to maximize their abilities and skills. What
  14. extra steps? Fireground safety, public safety radio operation and
  15. agency orientation are a few of the topics covered in training.
  16. Personnel must have served in RACES for at least a year, and be
  17. licensed as Technician or higher for a similar period. They must
  18. show a willingness and ability to serve as a RACES person before
  19. serving on the Strike Team. Membership in the Strike Team is by
  20. no means automatic. It requires a special level of participation,
  21. and members must have shown that they can meet this demand before
  22. they are accepted.
  23.      Strike Team members are normally assigned to other RACES
  24. functions, including operation of stations, EOCs and the
  25. Communications Center. If you belong to a Strike Team you will
  26. still be expected to attend the drills, training and activities
  27. that are part of your normal RACES assignment as well. In the
  28. process, you will be confident that no matter what may happen,
  29. you will be called!
